The GB Packers proved last season, that they had a great system in place with the right guys on the roster. They prevailed through 15 injuries, 16 weeks of football, and 4 playoff victories for the Lombardi Trophy.
But I am curious to see where LB Nick Barnett ends up. He has made the Pro Bowl, and became expendable when Desmond Bishop stepped up in his absence last season. There are a lot of teams out there that could use a veteran to tally up tackles in the middle for them.
Another interesting situation, would be whether to keep or to release RB Ryan Grant. He could be in the same situation as Barnett. Green Bay could save some money if they think James Starks can keep the momentum from last postseason’s running game. As a rookie last year, Starks came on late last season, only to surprising each playoff opponent by providing a strong rushing attack to an already potent offense, led by Aaron Rodgers.
It could turn out to be like the old cliche, “one man’s trash, is another man’s treasure.”
