Musical Chairs

Free Agency is like musical chairs, with a very short off-season and camp.

Here are some more “notable” signings as of late.

New Guy In Town?

It looks like the raiders will sign TE Kevin Boss (basically a trade to the Giants for Zach Miller)

With Braylon Edwards in the bay area, 49ers fans are hopeful to keep him there.

LB Lofa Tatupu, after his mutual release from Seattle, has mutual interest from Chicago (whom he will be visiting, he will backup Urlacher if he is not healthy enough to start at OLB, if he is in fact signed)

Put the Pen to the Paper

49ers: CB Carlos Rogers (Surprised he didn’t get picked up earlier, Nate Clements replacement)

Ravens: SS Bernard Pollard (Another Houston Texans player snagged by the Ravens, the other being FB Vonta Leach)

Texans: FB Lawrence Vickers (they needed a replacement for Vonta Leach)

Chiefs: FB LeRon McClain (another fullback off the market)

Eagles: RB Ronnie Brown (Curious to see his role with Shady McCoy being the lead back)

Saints: DT Abreyu Franklin (stole him from SF last minute, like Nnamdi)

Browns: CB Dmitri Patterson (another former Eagles player on the Browns)

Chargers: Laurent Robinson (I wonder if Malcolm Floyd stays or goes)

Bengals: Sign veteran OG Max Jean-Gilles (As if they traded Evan Mathis to Philly)

Colts: Add DT Tommie Harris to their d-line (Bears let him go, and he gets a fresh start like Haynesworth, except he has Freeney and Mathis)

Vikings: Surprisingly stole Peyton Manning’s LT Charlie Johnson (Let go of LT Bryant McKinnie because he failed a physical. Who will protect Peyton’s blindside?)

Cowboys: Resign Safety Gerald Sensabaugh (They need help in the secondary)

Rams: Cadillac Williams (perhaps the backup for Stephen Jackson)

Bears: C Chris Spencer (Takes over for Olin Kruetz)

Giants: OG Stacy Andrews (Actually replaces his brother, Shawn Andrews)

Dolphins: Marc Columbo (They needed an o-lineman, Columbo rejoins Tony Sparano)

Raiders: Get OG Justin Smiley (After they let Robert Gallery go)

Lions: LB Bobby Carpenter (Detroit has found all 3 starting LBs in free agency, Durant and Tulloch are the other 2)

Broncos: Pickup DT Ty Warren (Patriots let him go, and Denver adds yet another D-lineman to the roster, going from little to a lot, but you can never have too many players in the trenches)

False Starts

Denver will be holding onto QB Kyle Orton this season…so far…

The Giants will be keeping DE Osi Umenyiora, as they did not receive an offer of a 1st round pick like they wanted

Moving On

As of right now, Bret Favre, Randy Moss, and Marc Bulger have decided to retire. Not to say they aren’t men of their words (Not to call out anybody here lol), but I could see certain circumstances that could bring all 3 of them back).
