And there you have it folks, a rematch of Super Bowl 42. Congratulations to the New England Patriots and the New York Giants.
Patriots/Giants Part II. The Giants beat the Patriots in Superbowl 42, 17-14.
New England took care of home-field advantage. They blew out Denver last week. The defense has come around forcing turnovers and the offense scores even when you contain them. And today, they got the job done against the Ravens in a hard-hitting game (even if Baltimore kicker Billy Cundiff shanked a chip shot.)
The New York Football Giants repeated their postseason success from their Superbowl victory over New England a few years ago. They handled the Atlanta Falcons at home, then knocked out the Packers on the “frozen tundra.” Today, they blew out the candlesticks and leave San Francisco with an overtime win (courtesy of a Lawrence Tynes field goal).
Hats off to the Baltimore Ravens, San Francisco 49ers, and the Harbaugh Brothers for their tremendous seasons. Baltimore lost at the end of the game, and San Francisco lost in overtime. Both were the 2nd seeds of their respective conferences.
