Thursday Night Football
The Arizona Cardinals enter the game with an undefeated 4-0 record. They are a stout defensive football team that plays physical, and so far the offense has followed suit to get the job done. The St. Louis Rams look to protect home field with a 2-2 record, more known for their aggressive defense and standout running back Steven Jackson.
Rams Offense vs Cardinals Defense
Arizona will apply pressure in the backfield all game, forcing Sam Bradford to beat them. Steven Jackson is the focus of an opposing defense for a reason, because he can do it all and lead a team. St. Louis has found themselves facing a lot of 3rd and long situations, and they need Bradford to find a way to move the chains.
Cardinals Offense vs Rams Defense
St. Louis has a strong defensive line and aggressive secondary. Cortland Finnegan will get physical with All-Pro receiver Larry Fitzgerald, but Andre Roberts has stepped up as of late. Ryan Williams will have to get the run game going on the road to open up the playaction pass.
Arizona is the favorite to win this game, even on the road. Last week they came from behind to defeat the Miami Dolphins and remain undefeated. St. Louis faced their rival Seattle Seahawks and protected home turf in a convincing win. The Cardinals offense has found a way to put points on the board, however in this matchup I’m leaning towards Steven Jackson being the workhorse and putting Bradford in better 3rd down situations.
